okay, i'm a little late in getting around to this post, but better late than never. over on mark's site, he asked for a series of posts about runners that rock. well, man, that's a tough one. keeping it limited to three makes it really hard to choose and tough to keep people from feeling slighted, but sod it, here it goes.
i opted to pick runners who rock in areas other than running (even though they DO rock as runners). so, here's my picks:
warren:
this guy rocks as a father and husband. is there anything more worthy of celebrating? this guy, who is just now beginning to tap into his fitness potential (look for huge pr's at every distance and in the tri in 2006!) continually focuses on balancing his running with his family. if you've seen him in action, you've seen the joy that his family brings him and how he responds to ensure that their joy is his highest priority. warren, for being an awesome father and husband, you rock.
jank:
have you seen his latest post? this is typical of who bill is. i might as well just cut and paste from warren, since this guy is equally over the moon for his wife and kids. and as a runner, well, back to back marathons is nothing to sneeze at, but that pales in comparison to what a great father and husband he is. bill, you rock.
darrell:
this guy has been commenting on my blog for a while, and i just recently started following along on his site. i hit his site just yesterday to find out that he's currently winging his way to calcutta, india, on a missions trip. in his own words, "I can't even image what India will be like, especially serving those most in need." serving those most in need...humbling and inspiring. darrell, for being someone who gives back and has a profound impact on the world around you, you rock.
now, who are YOUR runners who rock?
Posted by jeff at December 30, 2005 10:12 AMThanks a lot. As you know I'm kind of new to blogging, and I hadn't seen any of those sites before. I agree, they're all great.
