eat your daddy

i've heard about people waking from sleep because of the bad ending of a dream, or because they were shouting, screaming or flailing during a dream, but never have i heard of someone waking themselves from sleep because they were laughing.

until last night. i woke myself from a dream i was having because i was laughing so hard.

about zombies.

i was playing this weird 'chase' game with a friend, keith. i was unning, he was chasing, but not in a "I'm gonna slash you" way, more of a "ha-ha, you can't catch me" way. anyway, it was around a mall, on the outside, jumping over rails, tearing through planters, sprinting across parking lots, etc. then we came to a big soccer field. and it was pre-arranged that on this field, we were going to play soccer with a bunch of zombies.

so, here's keith and i playing soccer, trying to dodge the zombies, who could care less about the ball and only wanted to eat our brains. so, since they couldn't catch us and we were able to score on them so easily, we started shouting taunts at them, like, "eat your daddy!" instead of "who's your daddy?!" the taunts got increasingly hilarious (although i don't remember them) and i was laughing so hard that i actually woke myself.

so, the short story, i woke myself laughing while dreaming about zombie soccer.

I just know this is leading up to the post I've been wanting you to post about. Hmmm . . . .

I've done this a whole bunch of times, except I don't think zombies have ever been involved. The sad thing is, by the next morning, I can never remember what was so darn funny.

Oh my goodness Jeff. I know our family is a bunch of laughin' loonies, but this one is classic and perhaps puts you one step closer to the loony farm. This is hilarious!! Did you wake smhrms (??) up? Your laugh is pretty hardy so I can imagine she probably thought an earthquake was going on!!

You're too, too funny. That's okay - I still claim you as my son. Where else would you get this crazy stuff!!
Love, Mom :)

Have you been smokinf anything funny recently?

I've consulted with the famous psychologist, Sigmund Freud Hasselbaink, who confirmed that the zombie team was, in fact, Manchester United.

What a hoot! I've had this happen a couple of times and it really is a fun way to wake up.

I spent many years as a soccer referee, so I'm trying to imagine what the calls would be when two runners take on a bunch of zombies. "Ungentlemanly conduct" takes on a whole new meaning!

Too many green olives before bed...

I wonder if Keith was having the same dream. Now that would be tripping.

I had a weird dream last night too, not the laughing kind though. I dreamt that a lady I don't even hardly know died. Doesn't that mean that someone I know is pregnant or something? Just don't let it be me!

It's official, both you and keith....WEIRDOS!

I find zombies to be poor teammates in group sporting events. What with all the drooling and chasing and such. Pretty much the only event I've ever found successful at a human-zombie outdoor mixer is badmitten.
