I'm getting a touch of the flu, so my first few days in LA have been very low key as I hope to shake it off before it gets a hold on me.
Why do I always get the flu when I travel?

The things that vacations are made of. Long sleep-ins. Over-indulgence. Hanging about with friends. I needed them all, and was glad to begin the vacation with a no pressure approach.
Arriving in San Francisco, I was dead on my feet, so it's no surprise that the first day or two are just a blur. Later, we took the BART into the city, visited the Asian Art Museum, and looked around town a little before heading back. We also spent a couple of days out in Napa Valley, wine tasting and meeting up with some of my friend's family out there for some touring and lunch. We dined out a few times, dined with friends and family a few other times, and just took each day as it came doing the things we enjoy. No photos though - I kept forgetting to take my camera. Bummer.
I had a great time. The weeks went by way too quickly, and I wish I could have stayed longer, but I'm sure the friend I stayed with is glad to have everything back to normal, and back to having a peaceful home.
I may have been quiet these past few months, but I'm still kickin'. Mostly I've just been slack about posting new entries, but there also hasn't really been much to report outside the norm. The US vacation has finally begun, however, so expect a sudden flurry of activity!
I poured boiling water on my foot mere hours before my flight to the US, and now I have a large festering burn where the skin used to be. I'm going to have to stay off it for the next couple of weeks while it heals over. Not the smartest thing to do at the start of a month-long trip, huh? I'll never look at tea or coffee the same way again.
