speed work
Day 12 of hidious heat wave. We were due to do speedwork at the track tonight ... but I opted for treadmill in wonderfully air-conditioned gym.
The workout was
6 x 400m with 200m rest.
after a light warmup I pressed the speed up button and off I went. The first one was miscalculated as I thought the treadmill was in km but it was in miles, so it took me 3.45 to do what I thought was 400m I was aiming for 1.55. The next four went great all on pace, the last one I tried to speed up but noticed my ankle and shin start to hurt so I cut it short and cooled down on the bike then stretched.

Hope that shin/ankle trouble isn't starting up. I've been avoid the treadmill and opting for running in the heat, rather than risk the shin splints from the 'mill. Just my own theory about the treadmill causing them really, but now I'm so paranoid about them, I'll try anything.
