double digits
I've made it to 10 ... 10 good runs in a row. It wasn't looking promising for number 10 yesterday afternoon. It was hot. Like 104 degrees hot. With humidity and smog and a speedworkout scheduled at the track. Speedwork, me and 100 degree temperatures do not make number 10.
So I opted for the dreadmill.
Just where god intended me to run on a day like yesterday, at the air conditioned gym, with an industrial size fan blowing on me.
The workout was pyramid type intervals
400, 600, 800, 1000, 800, 600, 400 with 200 rest between each.
I really liked doing the workout on the dreadmill. It was short enough that I didn't want to throw myself into the industrial size fan. The first few intervals were slower than I would of done on track, since I couldn't figure out my km/hr, so I guessed then kept increasing it till it felt right ... probably should of done that before going to gym.
This morning I had a session with evil trainer. It was a lot harder first thing in the morning. I seem to lack energy, humour and patience. There was a guy and his trainer beside us, they were laughing and having fun. I asked evil trainer why weren't having fun like that. She told me to 'suck it up' I'm not going back in the morning again.

You know? I prefer speedwork on the treadmill too.
Your trainer sounds like she needs to get a boyfriend.

Aren't all trainers inherently evil? I thought it was a requirement for the job.
Also, as much as I hate the treadmill I prefer to do my speedwork on it.

WOW--nice speedwork. I really struggle with speedwork on the treadmill, but it is a necessary evil when those temps start soaring.

And ummmm is it bad to ask what the story is with the friend and his problem? maybe I shouldn't ask...

Okay, I'm a trainer. We are really not bad people, although sometimes we stay up at night dreaming of ways to torture our clients.
Just kidding....
I think work outs should be both fun and challenging.

I had dinner with a friend tonight, who is going through something similar as your 'friend'. Is everything working out? I miss the updates.
Good call on the treadmill.
