withdrawl
For some reason running I can do .... but giving up diet pepsi is a bit of a problem!
I'm thinking of calling Lindsay Lohen and asking to share her room in rehab.
What do they put in this stuff?
I couldn't decide what to have for dinner last night because what I wanted should be washed down with DP. If I'm not going to have dinner then I'll snack on pretzels ... which taste great with ice cold DP. It took so long before I could decide on what to have that it was passed 7.30pm. Another really stupid idea. Have nothing to eat after 7.30pm.
By 9pm I was ready to jump in the car and drive to the shadey side of town to get my fix. I started to shake. Make excuses for my behaviour. Justify having a hit. It got very close, I had my purse and keys in hand.
Finally I regained control and I became fully aware of two undeniable truths.
It takes 21 days to form a habit.
It takes a lot more mental determination to break one.
What could you not give up?

I can't give up diet soda either. I've tried to no avail :( Yeah. Maybe Lindsey would have some tips because when she was recently pulled over after all those drugs weren't hers. She was just in rehab for crying out loud!

Hi Ali,
Just found your blog. Great to find another Toronto runner blogging about their ups and downs!
Good luck with the DP. My main vice has to be Miss Vickies chips - there's no way I could give them up!

You're doing good.. stay strong. I know I almost ripped the cabinet door off last night wanting some sugar, but after being put into a straight jacket by Handsome, I was fine and went on about my night.
Ok it's not that bad, but I understand your pain.

Hang in there, DP can be beat!
I know it's not the same, but you could switch to seltzer, or club.
What do I need to quit? I need to quit drinking the unnecessary glass on wine or beer on weekday evenings, it's just empty calories and I don't even get a buzz. (I can't stand soda btw!)

Hmmm, ok...there are SO many things that I love, but what do I eat every single day? CEREAL, lot's of sugary cereal! All Flavors, everyday.
There I said. I'm addicted to cereal.

I guess I'm not sure WHY you would give up diet soda? Is it bad for you? I think I could easily give up diet soda, but it would entail me drinking lots of regular soda instead. Not good.
Besides when I switched to diet soda I dropped several pounds without blinking an eye.

Vanilla ....
Right now, I don't know WHY. I keep saying out loud why am I doing this?
Tea ...
I'm glad you said sugary cereal, if you were addicted to the healthy bran fibre stuff I would no longer be able to visit your blog.
Deene ...
with you on salty foods ... and what goes great with salty foods ... soda!

I couldn't give up chocolate. I gave up all pop about a year ago and now even if I have a sip I end up with a horrible tummy ache...

It is not DP, it is DC or just C for me. A ar as giving up something.... I can't think of any one thing, I like food, food and more food.
I don't want to give up anything. I will limit my portion, but give them up??? NO WAY.

Chocolate or ice cream. I can try to cut back, but seriously, no way I could ever not have chocolate or ice cream ever again. Hmm, I want some ice cream.

I was downing a DP just now as I read this. and majorly crunching the ice, which I also cannot do without. DP and lots of ice. I love it. I don't get why you would quit either unless it is caffeine you are trying to get off.
