15 days to go!

Only 15 more runs.

Then I quit running forever! I am open to suggestions of what I could take up instead. Preferrably things that involve me sitting down ... and not on a bike.

This mornings run was tough. I think more mental than physical.

My legs felt better than they had all week. I just felt mentally drained. Maybe knowing all the hard work is done, and the marathon is only two weeks away, your brain switches off. I did get 12.5 miles done this morning, but only because of my awesome running buddies. I kept going cause they kept going. If I turned back I knew I would walk all the way back.

After the run, P suggested my iron might be low. So I should eat some protein, especially red meat. I came home and had a hour nap, then made a beef stew. It's almost ready. The house smells fantastic. I've also popped a couple iron supplements.

I am getting really excited about Chicago! I've booked tickets for J and I to see Spirit of the Marathon, that's playing at the Chicago Film Festival.

I know you'll rock Chicago. My marathon is 5 days away....ACCCK!

thanks for the link... looks like a cool film.

Ali - the iron is a great idea, especially as long and hard as you have been training. Go easy, though, make sure you keep up with dietary protein but careful with the supplements. Um...very hard on the stomach (good for you if you didn't get naseous or crampy after popping a couple -- food with helps) but also, quite constipating.

I would suggest easing into them, but keep up your dietary sources. The stew should be great! Hope it is yummy!! Sorry if I sound like your mother...

wow 15 more days...until you take up some new crazy thing and realize that it's not nearly as fun as this million mile march you're on...oh maybe that's it. After 100 runs, you start aiming for 1 million miles. I'll totally keep reading if you do that.

on the iron thing...most women are low in iron naturally and because of well, being a woman and that whole 'thing' we have, well...anyway...i take Centrum Performance which has extra iron and taking a Vitamin C with it helps with the absorption of said iron.

it has helped me tremendously!!

WOO HOO!
I'm so excited for you to do Chicago. You're going to have SO much fun.

two weeks plus 1 day! yay!
yes, the nutrient supplements are important, make sure you are replenishing everything so you can kick the marathon.

I checked out the movie link. You have to write a review after you've seen it.

I find knitting to be quite relaxing, but you should keep running too. We'd miss you around here!

Bobsled is sitting down. Do you have ice? Snow?

Should I ever decided to run another, I'll take a look. Thanks.
