logo...thing ??
ok. so i'm putting together this thing.... and i need to create a logo for it.
this is what i've come up with, thus far (above)... what its for isn't really important.. poster. book. logo... its a mark. it represents the marathon. for me, it represents the life change this marathon has come to mean to me... this thing i'm putting together... its complicated. but its important. at least for me. so i dont want to just throw something together for the logo/mark... i want something... i dunno... a visual representation of the mileage....
i still have a lot of sketching to do, but i thought i'd throw these out and get some comments from the only people in my life that actually understand the importance of this number!!
so, lemme know thoughts. i'm a designer, so i'm used to being critiqued!! let'er rip.

add another for the bottom right. simple, elegant, understated but you get the magnitude of that number. i agree with kiran about the bottom left. you could do lots to embelish that one, if you were leaning that way.

I haven't commented much (once, I think?), but I've been faithfully chronicling your journey and so feel inclined to offer my opinion now. :) (BTW, I love the idea of creating a logo to represent this accomplishment in your life!) My favorite is the one in the bottom right-hand corner.

i like the bottom right as well, because it's nice and understated. but the top right has a good feel to it.if you used either of the bottom ones, it would be easy to incorporate the date in there, too. but then people might get the wrogn idea and think it was your cell block# or something.

I like the last one best for a presentation thing. For a personal thing, I would choose the second to last one, it looks more introspective.

ok, not that i have any real talent with this but i was staring at the bottom left and wondered if you couldn't do something along those lines, but more straight forward on the numbering. see, now it looks cool, but you don't really get the whole 26.2. at least not right off. what if you could swirly/embelish/feminish the numbers with the pattern being more like this:262mi dunno. i was just looking at it and looks more like 22.6. but i get the whole reverse 2 thing though. anyway... just a thought. not that you needed it. just saying...

ok. top left or one of the bottom two are what i'm leaning towards.... but brent is a genious and i'm now going to play around with the 26.two idea....thanks for the comments, these are helpful.... i'll have more to choose from in the next few days. sweet. i love projects!

i'd say center left or bottom right. (just an idea: try spelling out the second "two" and maybe center it over "miles" but adjust them so they are the same width. i'm a designer too so i got excited. it's like a homework project!k, now that i've looked at them some more... i'm really digging the top left.

i like the top left. but i do sort of like the idea of the 'm' not needing to be in it. so i sort of like the idea of the top left but no m. or something like that. i like the idea of it being something artistic, which is why i like top left. i am, however, not a designer so i can mostly just say what i like and dont like, rather than an actual artistic suggestion.

Top left w/o the m, and maybe add a "." after the 6? The bottom right is geting a lot of votes, and I do like it, but it's not as artistically engaging as the top left.

I think the top left is the best choice for sure. Although the bottom right is typographically nice, its less of a mark. I think the top left is appealing because it reminds me of a journey or a path, the sort of winding trails that I love to run on. I agree that it needs a "." Perhaps you could put it on the 6 so that it matches the baseline of the first 2. ooooh sometimes I miss design!
