no way... i did it!!!
nuts right?!
ok. i have zero time to post the race-report, but i wanted to let those of you that didnt already look it up know.....
my official time: 5:32:48
not too bad for a newbie like me, eh?!
so. as far as photos and all go, nike doesn't have any up. but i do have this one (below)...
my first post-marathon french fry..... i have been sans fries since the say i signed up for the marathon. i was giddy with excitement (as you can tell) as i drank the sweet nectar that is coca cola classic and ate pure joy, in its delicious food-form.
race report will be up tonight! thank you so much, all of you, for your support. i cried when i read all the comments and emails from my friends and RBFamily. you all kept me going in my worst moments.. there are no words for my appreciation. thank you thank you and thank you.

Never, ever eat french fries again! They'll erode your time! You have to do another to beat your time here. (I liked the photo...the big ear to ear grin combined with the bit of guilt from the fries. The Coke is OK, why the old marathoners used to used defizzed Coke as their energy drink.Congratulations!

Fantastic! Welcome to the Marathon Club! I'm sorry we didn't get to meet up. But if you're still interested in moving to San Francisco, I always need running buddies to get me out the door. (You need them with these hills, right?!)I hope Sunday was one of the best days of your life. If it doesn't feel that way yet, it will soon. Go get a massage and keep on running. Again, congratulations!

Congratulations, Maria. Your excitement from all the runs up to the race must have paid off. You finished, and with an admirable time, too.As all the others said, welcome to the club. Just wait until the bug starts pestering you to find out what race is next. I'm currently trying to decide between Virginia Beach, VA in March or Cleveland, OH in May.Take some well deserved time of rest, and then you can change the name of your blog. Because, now, you ARE a runner. Feel free to join me in the anti-running marathon club. Perhaps we should start an official club, with shirts and everything.

Dear Alejandra,Way to go, girl!!! You deserve the carbos!!! Enjoy! When Raudel ran the Boston Marathon, he ate copious amounts of spaghetti for a few days, if my memory serves me correct. Glad to see your picture and to be reminded that you are still as cute as a bug's ear just like you were in Monterrey. So, do you speak Spanish these days? Okay, do you dance SALSA, these days? I have a question about the book on Europe that you were reading during the summer of 2001. What was the title? I took a stab and ordered several titles lately from Amazon.com, but am not convinced I have found the page turner that you talked about reading back then. Well, Alejandra, enjoy the sweet feeling of your success! Fondly, Mary Rodriguez

Reminds me of last summer when I was training for New York. We threw away our fryer. We went out and bought a new right after the marathon. Schwann's chicken strips never tasted so good.Congrats on running your first marathon. Look forward to hearing more about it.
