so ready for home...
8:30 people... a la a 7 yr old.
and ya know what?!....it ROCKED!!!! i woke up like 3 times and it still wasnt even MIDNIGHT yet. that's an awesome feeling. i wish it happened more often..
but so this morning when my alarm went off at 6am, i thought to myself....no need to sleep in! i'm awake! i just got a retarded amount of sleep! what will i do for an hour before i head off to work?!
hmmmm.....ooooh, i know!!!!!!! i'll make breakfast!!!!! hmm. what sounds good.... look in my fridge. there is no food. just some corn tortillas (because my fridge will never not have corn tortillas) and eggs...
uh-oh! sounds like miguitas to me!
so..... i make. and... i eat..... and.... hmph. dammit, why dont these ever taste like when my mom makes'em?!
gah! why? why is it that no matter what you do, the same recipe, the same brands of foods, everything..... nothing ever tastes as good as when your mom makes it. and i am not a bad cook people. i love to cook. i'm pretty good at it. but miguitas? NEVER. they are NEVER as good as my mom's...... EVER!
hmph. stupid breakfast.

What are miguitas? Please, share your recipe--the two ingredients you divulged make me think of huevos rancheros, and my mouth is watering! (Better yet, have your mom make them for you, and write down her recipe step by step!) :) I want to try them myself... I couldn't find a recipe for them on epicurious.com. (Was it stupid of me to check there in the first place?)

A day will come when you will just beg to be able to get to bed early. I was AIMING for 8:30 last night. Finally rolled into bed about 9:15. I also woke up several times before midnight.About 10:15 was when Toddler Pol kicked his blankets off and HAD to have daddy put them back on. "Cover, Cover. No, not mommy. Daddy cover."About 11:00, Baby Pol was hungry. Mom-in-law fed him, but she woke me up. That was just to get me ready for 11:30 when Toddler Pol managed to fall out of bed. Too funny. He looked pretty confused about how he fell out of bed, when he was on the floor when he went to sleep.Several other wake up calls made 5:00 a.m. come awful quickly. Workouts are soooooo fun on no sleep. Sleep on SWNK (Single with no kids).

In my house, certain people are THRILLED when nothing tastes like when mom makes it ... when mom can be bothered to cook in the first place. Pass the tofu...

ummm... this one's easy. The food never (and I mean NEVER) tastes as good as when someone else is making it for you. that's like, a rule or something.
