i ran. i smiled. i conquered.
and so i did. and it was fun.
3+ something miles in i have no idea what amount of time. mostly for two reasons...
one... its just not what this run was about. time wasn't what was important... but more than that...
two... God decided to have one of His "teehee i'm so funny" episodes that He loves pulling on me, and right at about 2.57 miles, when i was deep in the middle of a oooh, i'm feeling good, lets speed it up little jaunt... the treadmill, just...
stops.
just.... nuthin. no go.
so, after composing myself (i may or may not have slammed into the front of the treadmill...which may or may not have caused me to shout forth from my mouth a very colorful word.... to two....) i, being the detective/macGyver that i am, stared at the machine (attempting to intimidate it into submission, i suppose) for a good minute or two before the chick running next to me suggested i hit reset..
brilliant. treadmill is now running again... though its completely erased my mileage and time... so.. i ran another half-mile and figured it was 3+ something, and.... hey! that wasn't so bad!! i kinda liked it!! so i de-mounted, and called the run a success.
little miss runner pants is back! i know you were all so worried !!

Welcome back! P.s. today was my first run in over a week. It was 3+ miles on the treadmill too. Isn't sort of cool to know that we aren't alone :)

Never worried. I have to admit I agree with Jeanne. Just run, run times, let your body and how you feel do the talking.

And, if I may add to my previous late comment: Huzzah!! I'm all over the forget -the-mileage thing, and just run. It's working for me right now. AND, I'm so jealous you can run on a treadmill. Even if you did run dead into it (what a mental picture that conjured up. Another Lucy episode.) I may have to break the treadmill in our office just so they'll go buy a big-kid one.

Cheers! Glad you're back in the saddle. Or back on the belt. Whatever fits!Small tip that you can take or leave: On the days that I run on the treadmill and I know it's going to be more of a mental challenge than a physical one, I change machines a couple of times. Maybe every mile or maybe every 10, 15, 30 minutes. Whatever works to keep it a little more interesting... It's easier to get through when you know you only have to last 10 minutes!

Glad to hear that you found some motivation in the treadmill...go back and re-read your post "the journey". It's still great motivation for me, and I quote parts of it almost weekly :) Good luck!

I'm tellin' ya, those treadmill things are DANGEROUS! Get outside, where the only risks are cars, rocks, and sticks (to turn an ankle). (And I bet you can curse like a sailor when the machine cuts out!)

Just one more reason to avoid the treadmill.

Here's my confession: I tore my calf about a month ago (not running, mind you, but playing dodgeball), and I ran again for the first time since my injury on Tuesday. My calves are tight now, but it felt good to do it.

whenever I run on the treadmill I somehow hit the pause button when I am grabbing my water bottle- so the thing quickly slows down to a walk- throwing everything off!
