so much catching up to do...
man, i'm behind in my posting of life events.
i have a lot of catching up to do... but for now its my last weekend in my loft, i've got all the annoying random odds and ends to finish packing and another costume party to attend in a few hours, so i'm going to keep this short....
(actually.. "another" costume party might not be the right word.
last night, dressed in my full flapper get-up, i arrived at what i thought was to be a halloween party as...
the only person in costume.
on.ly. yes. you read that right... the only one.
i walked into carpool guy's house, everone turned around to greet me, there was a moment of shocked silence and then a great burst of laughter as we all realized what had happened.
*sigh*
you just can't win for tryin, i tell you what.
to make matters worse... the parents of most of my friends were attending said party as well, so not only did i get to make a fool of myself infront of my friends (who.. lets face it. are used to think kind of thing).. but from now on i'll forever be known as the flapper... and the chick that confused "costumes strongly encouraged" with "nobody will be wearing costumes".
oy. only me, i tell you what.)
so with that, i wish you all a grand weekend and....
don't forget to head over to jeanne's place to wish her good luck on marathon #2. she's running the marine corps marathon and, between you and me? i think she's got a pretty good chance of winning the thing!!!

Everyone needs a Bridgette Jones moment from time to time, right? Right??!!
At least you looked adorable.

It's HALLOWEEN. It's too bad that I wasn't invited because I would have thought "strongly encouraged" meant to wear a costume.
You look dar-ling.

That is an awesome story. That is also why I don't dress up for Halloween parties. That and the fact that I play dress up every day in my real life.

LAME. Dressing up for Halloween is the best part of the year, hands down. It's what separates us from the animals. And you look HOT!

Love the costume!

I second Alison on the lameness! Who throws a party the weekend before Halloween and doesn't dress up? Well, at least you showed 'em how it's done...

Oh, and I think I may come in second for most embarassing costume incident - I was a bat and someone asked me to spread my wings and I lifted my arms up and inadvertently dumped most of my drink all over my head. Smooth.

purrr. We had a gal dress as a flapper at our party, her hubby went as a ganster complete with tommygun.

no you didn't! Only you and Lucy. Well, you and Lucy and Bridgette Jones. You are hilarious. (Btw, I did win. Yes I did! Don't believe everything you read.)
:) Thanks for the shout-out!

Oh man...that sounds like something that would happen to me. But seriously...who throws a costume-less halloween party. BOO ON THEM.
Ya looked great though!!

Hey, I can't see the fishnets OR the bike shoes in that photo! I demand a follow-up post... :(

If you were the only one dressed up ... you know what that means? You were the only cool person there. Not to be judgemental or anything.

Who the heck goes to a party at Halloween and doesn't dress up!?!?
I got disgusted looks from all the dreadfully skinny girls who were not dressed up at a party I went to this weekend. I must say, my Marilyn Monroe costume got more attention than they did!
You look smashing!

Did that myself once in College. Came in a Toga outfit with my GF. She was dressed as a dancer. We still had a good time!

Well you might have been the only one dressed up, but you did it well. You totally rock the flapper look.
