forgot to mention...
so it occurs to me, as i sit here in my office attempting to ween myself off of my coke addiction... (mmmm. coca cola classic. sweet nectar of the gods....)
i've got a race in a few weeks, and i haven't even started training for it!
BUGGER!
apparently, with the move of jobs, the move of living spaces and the general chaotic mess i've found myself in lately, the fact that i'm running the 17th Annual Thankgiving Day 5k, which is something like 3 weeks away...
has completely slipped my mind.
until just now.
son of a.....
*sigh*
i don't know if you've noticed lately, but uh... my running?
my training these past few months?
yeah. pretty much non-existent.
three miles sounds like an eternity.
running a 5K?
pure asinine torture.
that this will occur thanksgiving morning?
well. thats just dumb.
but, never one to turn away from a dumb idea... running a 5K in seventeen days is, i guess, what i'll be doing!
hoorah for already paid entry fees!
awesome.
thanksgiving day 5k... here i come!

Mmmm. Coca cola classic... Mmmm. Luckily I was able to ween myself off that stuff. Three college roomates and I polished off over 1500 cans in a semester and a half. Then took the empties to Michigan. (And that was before Kramer and Newman tried to do that in a mail truck.)

No problem! You be totally ready in 3 weeks (she says as she trains for a 10K after doing almost no running for the last month).
Hell yeah! We can do this!

3 weeks is nothing. A mere 3 miles. Ha! You could do that in your sleep.

Okay, we'll buy these posts as eligible for the "post a day" thing. But only just.
As for a 5K with little/no training, you have the aerobic base built for it, now. In fact, I've only run 7 miles in November, and had a slow October. Then again, my swimming is off the charts.

Remember to get your Carlsons fish oil (lemon flavor or you won't take it. BIONX is also an amazing supplement). One teaspoon per 50lbs of bodyweight per day. Also, drink .5 oz of water per pound of bodyweight. This will not only assist with your COKE habit, but will improve that elbow. If you don't believe me got to www.watercure.com. Keep up the good work.

fish oil? whatever. think of your 5k as a TRAINING run. You say training run and voila, all the pressure is off! Just get out there and do whatever. Don't worry about your time, just run the race. you'll have fun, you'll see! (post a day is KILLING me...)

You can grind out a 5K and do okay.
Just have fun and try not to think about how much better UNC is than KU and you will do fine.

I just hit my one year coke-iversary and can't believe I haven't had a drop of the stuff in that long. Your teeth will totally thank you, though! You can do it!
