oh dear...
umm.
so there's a bike shop across the street from my office and this morning i just casually went in there not really planning on buying anything, or um.. anything... but..
i sorta ended up with a little computer-thing to measure cadence on my bike cuz.. well, cuz i'm an easy sell. lets be honest, but uh..
yeahhhh.
i can't figure out how to put it on the bike. i've had to start over 3 times already.
its not looking good.
i am *so* not cut-out for this kinda thing....

Oh brother. Go to the bike shop and have them put it on for you! Seriously. Why do it yourself if someone else can do it for you - and much faster than you can do it yourself. The magnet has to line up just right or the cadence won't register! And put the mileage gauge on the BACK wheel in case you use a trainer - otherwise it won't register the speed... etc etc etc.

I agree with J. Drawing on other's expertise makes you smart, not a moocher :-)

um yeah, the bike shop people didn't even offer to let me put it on myself. they just put it on my bike. i don't think it's an easy thing to do (for us mere bike mortals). :)

you better not be having trouble with a wireless computer.

You can do it. Don't give up! Send an email to the Winz...he's always the helper.

Okay, let's be realistic here. You bought that cyclo-puter for blog fodder.
Such a sure thing. Buy a computer, attempt to put it on. Instant blog post.
Sneaky. Very sneaky.
Just wait, though, I have pump components coming, tomorrow.

AJ freaks me out with a lovely email heading of CODE RED and BIKER DOWN.....problem solved. Sheese, do I need to create a Winz Hotline?

I am third with J. Go back the bike shop. I am the same way with strange gadgets.

Ask the bike shop folks. They should do it and if not return it. I am very gadget challenged.

I love random purchases! They're the best!

My cadence computer was one of the best purchases ever - helped my training a ton.
The bike shop people put in on for me automatically (bike was there for some other reason), so can't help you there.
