ohhhhhh holy moses.
i'm doing a triathlon this year.
i'm for real doing a triathlon this year, and i'm pee my pants scared about the whole ordeal.
right now, currently, i've got four or five on the list. short ones. mini-sprint tri's, nothing serious, but getting the calendar out, and circling dates...
i kind of feel a little lightheaded.
i'm nervous, a little queasy... i actually do kind of have to pee and i'm anxious to the point of immobility.
my arms feel like lead, i can feel that i'm tensing my legs, and, in my usual manner, i've kind of got the giggles.
which really doesn't help the peeing thing at all.
i'm really doing it this year. i'm going to be a triathlete.
BAHHH!
i think its official... i'm crossing over to the dark side......
olathe half-marathon
heritage park du/triathlon
shawnee mission triathlon
jackson country triathlon
topeka tinman

more power to you, girl. i praise anyone who doesn't instantly drown and can endure the butt pain known as biking. you'll rock that tri for sure.

triathletes are a friendly bunch. none of the elitist BS that comes with the racing crowd. haven't you been planning to do this for a while now, though?
Posted by: good ol' j. | January 8, 2007 11:17 PM
yeah!!! knew you'd succumb!
Posted by: Curly Su | January 9, 2007 12:07 AM
You are going to do AWESOME!!

Just to throw some reality into the mix, which one(s) have you signed up for. We're talking registration confirmation here.
You can take some of the edge off by making your first tri a nice, short one. My first, last year, was only a 220 yard swim. And you could walk it if you really had to. No pressure.

Welcome!
It is a good kind of nauseous feeling isn't it?

***metallic breathing sounds here***
Don't understimate the power of the dark side.
***more metallic breathing***
It is your destiny.
***more metallic breathing***
AJ . . . I am your father
***breathe**
AJ: "!!!!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Well, its not really as dramatic as all that, plus I'm way too young. You'll have fun!!

You can do it, A! You're so smart to start with sprints. I'm the idiot who signed up for Wildflower...
Happy New Year!

You'll love it, I was "just" a runner until last year and although I still enjoy running, there is something addicting about triathlon.

Dark side? I prefer "enlightened"--I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching you morph into the wall climbing, bike riding, hat knitting, wall balling, box jumping, zone eating, pull up goddess that you have become. Such commitment and dedication! I will be there to cheer you on.....at each race....oh, and by the way....there is no finish line...you've just started! Congrats!

You'll totally whoop its ass ... whichever you decide. Hey, email me at work when you get a chance. I lost your email address somehow.

This post reminds me EXACTLY of how I felt this time last year.
Seriously, girl, you are going to ROCK. And you will feel so totally incredible -- there's nothing like it! :)

Just remember, it is still just a race. You will do fine and remember to have fun. Now go root that UNC is #1 and KU and especially that dook still sucks.

Sucked into the vortex... I love it! You will do great-its going to be a fun journey so hang on!

Sweet!!!
And if you really do need to pee your pants, let it flow. No one will know and most triathletes don't even care. We've got closet incontinence.
