off to new york!

well its official. the FRG for Army Guy's battalion called me last night and he's coming home June 11th. its about time!

i haven't heard from him for a few months, and things between us have changed, but no matter what, i'm happy to hear he's heading home and that he's safe. 10th Mountain has gone through some really tough times this past year, they've lost a lot of guys and i know they're all so tired and just want to be back.

Army Guy recently came down on Drill Sergeant orders, so it looks like he'll be heading back to training pretty soon.

this time though... he'll be state side, so thats a bit of a relief!

anyway... i'm off to new york in a couple weeks, to welcome him home. many of you have sent well wishes and have been asking "whats the deal!!?!" so.. i just thought i'd spread the cheer!

Been wondering what was going on? I was afraid to ask. Great to hear he's doing well.

Thank him for me for keeping us safe.

Good news.

Enjoy NYC too!

Glad to hear he's safe and sound - and New York in June doesn't sound like a bad deal, either. Have fun!

*sigh*

new york is a big state y'all. i'm not going to NYC.. i'll be up in the boonies!

but thanks!

Yay! I'm always happy when a soldier gets to come home. I hope he gets to stay here.

i don't know why you never come down to the city. what about for a race in central park? 5M on 6/17...

Hopefully, with a little peace and a little time to share it, you two can reconnect a bit.

He probably has no idea how many people there are out here who admire him and are grateful for him and his buddies.

As a military spouse who's hubby just got home from Iraq, I can share your joy. I'll just bet that you will be able to reconnect somewhat once he is back stateside.

The 10th Mountain Division has an amazing history. Former Sen Bob Dole was a member of that unit when he was severely injured during WWII as they climbed and skied mountains in the dead of winter to get a drop on the Germans.

Give your friend my best and my appreciation for his service. I admire him greatly and am very thankful that he is standing at the breach for the rest of us.
