BAHH! where am i at?!
i know.
i know. you're expecting a recap.
I KNOW!
unfortunately tuesday morning my boss informed me that... basically... the company didn't win enough (read:: any) contracts, so after i finish this demo project i'm working on... unless it magically wins us some more work, (which.... yeah.) then..
i'm out of a job come Oct. 30.
high five for contract work!!!! WOOT!
needless to say i'm in a bit of a scramble, and recapping my now what seems like extravagant 6 day weekend just doesn't fall too high up on the list.
i sowwy.
BUT KNOW THIS!!!
aj doesn't go down without a fight. so... as soon as i figure something out and nail down my next move (HA!!! i've been working on that for years now. who am i kidding?) i'll be back.
in the mean time, here are pics from the weekend. it was good times. enjoy :)

jill and i in Aspen. where, um... yeahhhhh.
so. aspen's expensive.
shopping in aspen's even MORE expensive.
and now, dropping 200 bucks on an omg totally cute this is so presh i totally have to have it shirt kinda.. i dunno.. seems a bit.
ya know.
WRONG!!!

friday night bold and i ventured out to meet my half-sister. for the FIRST TIME EVAH!!!
t'was quite the evening. all i knew was that she was half-way related to me, and had brown hair.
entering the restaurant, bold and i basically went on a sister-shopping-spree.
me: "i dunno.. think that could be her? she's kinda... i dunno.."
bold: "tall. she's tall. no way she's related to you. NEEEEXT!"
yeah. went something like that. when finally she arrived and...
well.
he was right!
go figure.

saturday morning, after a delicious breakfast and an interesting packet pick-up
me: heaving... after walking from the car to the pickup..."uhh. bold. do you think its a bad sign that i'm already out of breath??"
bold: laughing... "uhhh. well... "
we decided i was obviously in the kind of shape that is so elite, so supreme, that a simple little two-hour hike up a mountain was..
no. big. deal.
so off we went!!
where we saw signs warning us about bears.
how could this be bad?
i mean really....

sunday was race day, and... quite the event.
bold and i were knocking down PR's like nobody's business until mile 7 where.. i dunno. the elevation. several days in such an altitude..
it proved to be too much for me.
so i took a nap.
20 or so mintues later bold snapped the above image, roused me from my slumber, and we soldiered on.
a typical AJ race. what can i say?!
*wink*
after the race was all said and done (check out bold's blog for our medal pic) he and i met up with Lawyer Girl.. (middle chick above), a few of her friends, and my new bloggy friend, HEATHER!!! (above with bold) at the Rio for some banananasty mexican food and... some swinging good times.
all in all it was a great trip.
and... i think i just recapped it for you!
who knew!?
anyway, i'll do my best to post more in the coming weeks but.. well...
obviously i'll have a few other things on my mind. so bare with me, and just know.. i'll be back.
i'll ALWAYS be back!

I'm sorry about the job situation aj. I really admire your eternal optimism. :) Looking forward to following your next adventure and hearing more about your trip out west!

Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you guys. The timing just didn't work with the Denver Marathon.
It looks like you had a blast! And, I often find myself taking naps...even just to...you know...get the mail.

Bummer about the job. I loved the race reports from you and Bold. Sounds like a great trip.

Ouch. Bad news about the job. Booo!
Great job on the race. Hilarious that you took a nap!

There ARE bears on that trail- I saw 3 one time! But they were more interested in eating the berries off the trees than gnawing on a little hiker.
Sorry to miss you for the 3rd time. Can't say 3rd times a charm...how about 4?

ha! good times.
cough *DallasSucks* cough
Come live in Denver/Boulder!

NEXXXT!

Bummer about the job. I feel your pain (got laid off Aug 15).
I like that nap strategy for the 1/2 Mary. I might have to try that during the Nike in a couple of weeks.

That sucks about the job coming to an end. Contract work has always scared me for that reason, but you'll find something I'm sure! And sounds like a fun trip. Don't fret the spending that was done. You can't take it back and it's nice to have fabulous things sometimes.

i don't know if i have ever commented on your blog, but your writing make me smile... and you may- big huge maybe- have just inspired me to do a 1/2.

I second Brandi!!! And by the way, shut up, Bolder. She can't afford to live in Colorado. :)
Seriously, good luck on the job search and if there's anything I can do, please let me know.

a nap! i knew i was doing something wrong!

You really shouldn't eat at the Rio. You should only have the margaritas. Which are fantastic.
Good luck on the job hunt...keep us posted!

The pix turned out great! Good luck with the job situation--no wonder it took awhile to get a race report. Hope the changes lead you to bigger better (and potentially handsome) things in short order.

Sorry to hear about the job situaiton. But your postive attitude will pull you through. I would say try my states job market becasue we have good runnning trails here too, but our market is not that good either. Great pics from your trip and keep living the dream. Cheesy I know.

Great pictures and weekend report. Looks like you had a blast.
Sorry to hear about the job, but I know you'll bounce back in typical aj fashion!

Fabulus Pics, doll. And the job - well, shit. I hope the next one is better and longer lasting -same goes for men, really.

Looks like you had an awesome trip! And I hear you on shopping in Aspen. It's the same here in NYC, esp in Tribeca. You'll see a shirt you like and it's $300. Almost insulting!

Whoa, I also have a half-sister I've never met. Weird!
