already dreaming...
so its race day morning. my mom and dad and i are in Lawrence in the middle of this big field and we've got all my stuff. my bike, helmet, wet suit, shoes... everything.
we walk up to this big booth, and i get my ID out to show the lady working the booth that.. yes, its me. can i have my bib number please?!
i get up there, she takes my ID and tells me.. "sorry. you're not on the list"
"um.. okay?! what do you mean "not on the list"...?!"
"i mean.. you're name's not here. you haven't paid to race yet."
"uhh. yeah. actually.. i HAVE. i already paid. i paid forever ago. i was the first one to pay!! my race number is 69!!"
"i'm sorry ma'am. you're not here. you can't race today"
"WHAT!?! but.. but.. i have to. i have to race today!! today is race day!! i have to race!!"
"i'm sorry. but there's no way we're letting you race today. you're not ready. you haven't trained enough, there's no way you'll survive. we can't let you race today"
.... and then i woke up.
*sigh*
is it just me or does that feel mildly like a bad omen?!
i'm officially freaked out now.

I totally have dreams like that too! But usually they are the night before a race, not six months before the race...
And I had to laugh a little at your race number in your dream :-)

That's not a bad omen, that's a stress dream. They keep folks on the training straight-and-narrow, so maybe you're lucky to have one!

Ok, the freaking out? That's normal. This far in advance? Not so normal.
And is there something funny about the race number? I don't understand. :P

pish posh there is no such thing as a bad omen. It means you don't trust others to handle things for you. :) All I can say is 69 is far better then 13. Especially after I just watched 1408 last night and was completly freaked out.

Take it as a good omen! You're just getting the pre-race jitters out of the way... Now you're a step ahead of all those other competitors! Just came across your blog by the way, I've been enjoying it!

I have nothing original to add. Not a bad omen - just a case of anxiety with a sense of humor.

Is your race number really 69?
At least you didn't get to the race and find it already started and you have to catch up on a golf cart. That's the random dream I get sometimes. T2 is weird with a golf cart.

I agree w/ 21stCenturyMom. Just pre-race day jitters.
