"i think that's hooah"
sitting around this morning talking with my co-workers (well... what's left of them) i realized i was way out-numbered.
there's an ex-marine, ex-infantryman and ex-air force pilot. when talk turned to guns, guns and more guns, i knew there was no chance of conversation participation.
until, of course, i let it slip that... i've never even HELD a gun!
they. went. nuts.
"how? how is that possible?! didn't you go shooting in high school? where are you from? your parents don't have guns? what is wrong with you!!?!?!"
....ummmmmmm...
so.. yeah. to rectify the situation i think i convinced them to take me shooting tomorrow and call it "research" on post at ft. leavenworth.
apparently the gun for me is a remington 870 (no idea what that is, but apparently the ex-infantryman is bringing his youth one for me. cuz.. i'm so short. sad.), a 20 gauge and a bennelli.
again. no idea what those actually are. all i requested was one that does the chik-chick sound!!! and they assured me it would.
nice.
(i am SUCH a girl.)

OMG. Did you ever really live in Texas? And C-Su? Louisiana? For real? No guns?
Yeah, they do the chick-chick sound. And they go bang really loud.
Don't forget to breathe, don't jerk the trigger, and by all means, don't point that thing at me.

I work in healthcare in an office full of women. So, the majority of chat is about drapes, furniture, and what Vera Wang wedding dresses should be purchased. There are also lunchtime pedicures that I am excluded from.

Make sure you wear ear plugs and muffs if you go shooting. All it takes is one shot to get a permanent hearing loss.
Be safe and blow *&% up!

Errr... I went on a "shooting date" once. It was so scary. I shot a 9mm, I think. It sounded very gangsta..9 milli.meter. Don't think I'll ever do it again.

I've never shot a gun. My ex had a couple so I do believe I've touched them but I don't think I ever held one like I was going to shoot it and I have never shot one.
Don't forget the ear plugs!

ear plugs. eye protection.
and no matter how loud it is or how much it kicks, don't drop it after you shoot it that first time.

How many times do we have to go over this?
There is no such thing as an "ex-Marine."
We can be former Marines but "ex" means we are dead so unless you work with dead people...former Marine.
Get it straight chica.
