why don't i just DO IT!!?
i missed a swim last week.
and i was gunna make it up this weekend after the race....
but i didn't.
and then yesterday i had an emergency doctor visit (everything's fine for now. no worries) so i didn't get my swim OR my ride in...
so i was gunna make my swim up today, but.. i went to crossfit, and then was hungry, and then i had to see which david won idol, so..
i didn't.
and tomorrow i'm going for my ride with my coach and 0%, and won't have (read: wont make) time to swim ALSO... so...
AGHHH.
why is fitting in the swim so hard for me?
why don't i just man up and DO IT!?!
Comments

The swim is the one that was easiest for me to drop too--because of the logistics of getting to the pool. Fear made me do it.
I generally have to do it first thing in the morning for weekday workouts or it doesn't get done.

That was me last week. I just kept letting the workouts slip. I feel your pain!!

Because, unless you have an endless pool in your backyard, going to the pool is sooo annoying. or is that just me?

Just came across your blog for the first time... we must be soul sisters!!!
I've gotten in exactly 2 swims in the last 2 weeks. My first tri is 3 weeks away. Might I ought to be spending a little more time in the water?!
I had this grand plan that this morning I was going to get up and swim for 30 minutes before my 6am weight-lifting class. I woke up 10 minutes before my alarm. But, somehow, I convinced myself to keep hitting the snooze bar for NEARLY AN HOUR, until I barely made it to class on time. No swim.
But I did take a bath last night-- does that count?!

The hardest part of the swim is jumping into the pool. Just like running, swimming first sucks and after a few minutes it doesn't.
Stay tuned...

Just discovered your blog- actually looking for more info on "Pull Buoys." For some reason I didn't believe what you posted and went out and tried it anyway. My bad. From now on I listen to everything you say and take it as gospel. Anyway, as far as the swim goes, and more specifically avoiding the swim. My boss tells a story that has something to do with eating a frog- the point to the story is that if you eat the frog first thing in the morning, the day can only get better from there. The swim is your (and my) frog. Like others have said, make your swim the first thing. Eat your frog first. It can only get better from ther. O.K., now if I can actually do that, I'll be in good shape.

what works for me is slowing down at the time of making the decision and thinking it through.
pros vs. cons...consequences of not doing, that type of thing. that usually helps me realize that i actually do want to do the swim!
hey, did you get a chance to read my race report? from gulf coast?

Time to just let it go and move on.
(although that's hard for me to do too....)
