training machine.
m'kay. i'm like... on the VERGE of returning to my previous "training machine" mode.
step one was this weekend... a 48 mile ride up north that really got me into the groove again. it was a great ride, i met a super fun chick that trains with T3 (seriously!? what's with everything around here costing $150/month to join? thats bunk!) and it got me all geared up for some solo rides this week.
that, plus running at town lake (lady bird lake) and getting some quality swims in this week...
i feel the itch. its time to get out there and get going.
which.. is what i'm gunna do.
i apologize in advance if the posts are far and few between... austin's got me pretty busy and i must say, i'm just enjoying every moment of it. so until i fall into an actual schedule again... i might be a bit sporatic. but i'm working on it! just know in the mean time i'm having fun and thanking my lucky stars that i ever had the balls to make this move. i can't say enough great things about how empowering it is to finally do something you've always dreamed of doing!
this week's workout plan...
Monday -- 2200 swim. run??
Tuesday --- 1.5 hour bike. hopefully meet a cute boy my friend wants to set me up with! woot!
Wednesday -- 2200 swim, 40 minute run -- intervals!
Thursday --- 1.5 hour bike, swim easy??
Friday -- run/swim distance TBD
Saturday -- 3+ hr bike
Sunday -- 8 mile run
who want's to make bets on how much of that actually gets done!!?!
ha.

A Tri club costs $150/mo? *blink blink* That's just crazy. I hope you get some coaching for that!

I just checked. You can be in the club for $15/mo but to get coaching costs $150/mo which could be okay depending on what you get.

Sounds like you are settling in nicely! Yup, time to get back to training hard again, you've got a race in a few months, right? :)

Believe me--it's worth the $150 per month! You get multiple coached workouts in swimming, biking and running, core classes, nutrition classes, free massages after races, group runs and long rides on the weekends, happy hours, did I mention happy hours? Also, they lay out your training schedule for you each week on their forum so you know exactly what to do! Yep-it sounds expensive, but it's totally worth it!
Also, shoot me an email if you want to come to one of the indoor cycling classes with me. You'll love it (and hate it all at the same time). I'd love to introduce you to some of the T3 folks because you'll be hooked :-)
Let's do our Austin meetup!!

Glad you are having fun in Austin. I love it when I go down. If that town cant get you ready to run or bike or swim, no town can. And by the way, thanks to your blog, I found out about the Nike Human Race that, by the way, is being run in Austin 8-31. good post and thanks for looking out.
peace
