I'm sick. Again.

After feeling like I was fighting something off for the last four days, I woke up with a sore throat this morning.

But that didn't keep me from my scheduled 2-mile run at lunch today.

My calves were screaming so loud, my body didn't have time to register any pain at my knees. I suppose that's a good sign :) It took the whole 2 miles to really get warmed up; by the time I arrived back at work, I was finally ready to do some running! Too bad I didn't have time to run more.

Spirit of the Marathon is making a repeat stop in town; I'll be heading out on Thursday to check it out!

Oh man! I hope it's just a little bug! What is up with this nasty virus?! Take care of yourself (maybe eat some cupcakes - I found them to be extremely helpful when I was sick:)

Feel better soon! It's been a tough winter!

I loved the movie! I hope you have fun!

Sleep... drink lots of fluids... relax... make your body too wonderful of a vessel for that nasty bug to roost in! ;)

Feel better!

Get better soon! It's been a rough winter for illnesses.

Hope it doesn't turn into anything major. Take care!

Oh, hey...thanks for the reminder about the movie.

There we go leading parallel lives again. I was flat on my back in bed this past weekend with a flu (or was it a cold? Dunno... Nasty, whatever it was)

Hope you're feeling like yourself again soon!

Personally, I would pass on any processed food and recommend eating lots of berries, fresh fruit, veggies, whole grains, lean protein and get your body well. Running a lot requires feeding my body lots of healthy things. It is hard, but so is being sick all the time! I guess I'm a believer that we don't get sick because we are surrounded by people who are sick; we get sick because our immune system is unable to ward off these bugs. If I strengthen my immune system, I have a pretty good chance of fighting these things off. Most people in my office are on round two of this nasty thing and so far, I've been able to avoid it. If I start feeling like I am getting it, I get right back to super healthy eating, lots of water and rest, and an herbal remedy I swear by - Yin Chao, Black Elderberry syrup and zinc lozenges.
I'm only trying to help - hope you don't think I'm preaching! I want you to be well so you can run more...

Pinkcorker has a point. Don't give in into been sick, if you pretend you are not (while taking care of your body) - you'll crawl out of it!
