Yesterday afternoon I arrived at the Hood Park fields straight from work in the hope of having Andy's first run with him. He said that his hip was feeling better and there was no pain, so we figured it'd be okay. As we were making our way to the fields though, he felt a dull niggle, which then made him decide to rather not run. I did a slow jog around the fields for 18 minutes before my calves started to cramp up. My legs were still feeling a little stiff from the race on Sunday and I didn't want to run into injury, so I stopped.
An hour later though, everything was fine... no stiffness, no soreness. Nothing.
This morning I woke up and wanted to go for a run, but just in time realised that I was already late for work! Andy said he felt okay this afternoon - once again we met at Hood Park and this time he ran with me for a full 20 minutes without any pain. I was taking it relatively easy - it is after all a rest week - and only started speeding up in the last km.
I feel a little tired though. It could be due to a lack of sleep, or maybe I picked up a bug somewhere and its just working itself out. Tomorrow will have to see whether it gets any run at all :)
