Stress Release
Since yesterday I've been ill. Not actually a bug, but all stress related, I haven't been able to hold down fluids or food since about noon. The first two days at the new company has turned out to be a lot more stressful than anyone could have foreseen and I'm starting to doubt the choice I made when it came to the offers I had to consider.
Yesterday afternoon Andy dragged me to go for a smallish jog, but I felt so sick that I just couldn't. So after some negotiations, we somehow landed at the pool where the first few lengths were hell. Then I got into a stride and after swimming for a kilometer, I felt a load better. It was drizzling with rain, but strangely enough the pool was full of people.
Tonight we have a run planned - and I think I'll do it even if I still feel ill. If swimming releases that much stress, just think what running will do!
I'll give it a chance - if within 3 weeks I'm still as stressed as I am now, I'll have to leave my job and consider making a career change. Its no use working in a job you don't at least enjoy 80% of the time.

i am with you, right now, karin. i tweaked my back the other day while i was really tight and stressed and when i woke in the morning i could barely move. smsmh kept telling me to keep moving and after a walk, light jog and swim, i was nearly feeling 100%.
hang in there and remember to relax, breathe and focus on things that you know and are familiar with. hopefully you'll be fully in the swing of the new job soon. best wishes!
