Getting the year off to a good start has been harder this year, but I think I’m doing okay so far.
Last night I went to the first spinning session of the year. I didn’t think I was going to make it. I arrived at the class with about 20 seconds to spare, which was far too little to setup my bike right … I took a rough guess-timate and got on. It turned out (not surprisingly) to be completely wrong and I struggled a tad through the class, but I finished it. My legs felt tired and I had to back off a little here and there, but I finished the class and felt that that was what counted.
The new timetable for the classes have thrown me off a little – it turns out that I can’t make half the ones I wanted to do and I can make most of the ones that I didn’t want to do, but a re-shuffle should probably change my mind on the subject.
Afterwards I headed towards the car, which was parked on a bit of white ice, but to get to it, I had to cross some black ice which has caused the local kids a lot of amusement during the course of the evening. I’m definitely not one for ice – I just don’t have the balance and I nearly fell twice.
The frosty spell is supposed to last another few days – dreadmill, I’ll see you tonight.
