Cross-training: Inline Skating?
All the sports stores in my area are advertising Inline skates, anybody ever do this for cross-training? I'm curious if this would have any negative aspects in regards to my marathon training?

It is a TREMENDOUS form of cross-training Jack. Great strength training for the legs + no impact so it promotes healing between runs.Of course, it is like biking in that it is only as good as you make it. If you glide alot, there is limited benefit. And a tip: If you concentrate on full, strong strides, it can work the entire body.Awesome stuff.

Everyone I know who uses inline skates uses it for general fitness, or to improve their hockey skating. None of those people are runners. I'm interested to see what you find out.
