Storm Clouds

My workload at work seems to be picking up again, lots of project deadlines looming on the horizon, glad I’m tapering = running less the next week or two, because work is taking a bear share my time. I just hope I can keep my head together so I can concentrate on the 50K coming up in 11 days.

I got home later than normal last night, but quietly slipped out for a quick 9K/5.5M run before dinner. It was only 6C/43F compared to 17C/63F that we had the day before on Sunday. I at least had a chance to work off the stress from the day. Tonight I may do a little weight training, but first I have to take care of a few errands for my wife.

I’m feeling a bit stressed out this week. Work is busy, my wife’s job search has been unsuccessful, my work is bugging me for vacation schedule for this year and I have no idea if/when we go to New York like we planned on, and lots of other little things. I am trying to work through these issues, but sometimes it just isn’t so easy. I remain optimistic, but my sleep has suffered lately, the weather doesn’t help – it is bouncing around like a rubber ball.

Nothing to do but face the wind and go through it, up ahead the sky will clear and life will sail more smoothly. Have a good week!

With my hub's current work situation (or lack thereof), I can relate. I just try to have faith that it will work out okay!

Hang in there Jack!

Hang in there Jack!

There's nothing worse than wanting to make plans, but not being able to because of some unknowns. It is so frustrating! Keep the optimistic attitude going Jack - it'll all work out eventually.

Oh Jack...so sorry to hear of your stress. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel, but sometimes getting there just sucks you dry!

I think maybe a real exciting new running goal could spur up some good stuff. ya think????

Hang in there! I know it will all work out!!!

Yikes, thank goodness you have your running to work through that stress. Here's hoping things smooth out real soon.

As my friend Gail tells me when I whine - that, too, shall pass... don't you wish it would sooner, and the good stuff wouldn't?
:)

Hi Jack!

I enjoyed reading your blog. It makes me feel a little home sick, though. I am a native German (I'm sure you guessed by my first name) transplanted to the Arizona desert. I am an avid runner and have completed five marathons so far. I just received a call from my brother who is getting married in Ruelzheim / Pfalz September 1, 2007. Any good races you can recommend around late August into the first two weeks in September? If there are no races, maybe you have some favorite trails I could hit? (I come from a non-running family, so asking my brother for running information is not going to yield any results. My family thinks I am slightly crazy for running, particularly marathons!)

Thanks for your input!

Ute
