An Easy Run with the Running Club

When I got home from work yesterday I was totally exhausted, a result of many nights of restless sleep due to the heat and too much on my mind. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. yesterday morning and couldn't sleep anymore, so finally gave up and got ready for work - I was sitting at my desk at 5:30 a.m. trying to peck away at my pile of work.

Anyway I hit the couch for a quick nap when I got home, which revived me somewhat before I joined the ranks at my running club trailhead. It was a balmy 33°C/92°F, so I figured an easy run would be in order. Apparently I was not the only one with this thought, the mid-pack group was dragging their heels. I was in the front with Brigette trying to maintain an easy 6:00/km (9:39/mile) pace, but we kept losing the group. Finally out of shear frustation we trotted on ahead and left the them behind.

Tonight I have cross-training on the schedule, namely helping a friend clean out his cellar - lots of lifting, carrying and stair-climbing - and that at 90+ °F!

The humidity gets to me too. But I have a deal with myself...no complaining in the summer, cuz when the winter weather comes--you'll hear me loud and clear!!

I now run with pumpkin seeds!! Love em!
