Fun, fun ... 'tis the season, isn't it? The little buggies are abounding this time of year. I just finished with a week of work travel, followed by a week of catching up and getting sick ... the official diagnosis - the flu - but, but, but ... I had the flu shot. Doesn't matter. Apparently there are many varieties of flu out there ... and this IS peak season.

Needless to say, I haven't been exercising in a l-o-o-n-n-g time ... and so I was determined that this past weekend I would get up off my lazy a-&-& and do something physical (besides operating the remote control for the TV). So I eased back into my workouts with a long walk on Friday after work, and a long walk/ short run on Sunday - I ran a whole 2 miles! It was exhausting ... and my legs were like rubber. Now I know why people who don't run, don't like running ... it hurts bad the first few times you do it!
Despite the sore muscles, I got up today at my usual 5:30 a.m. to hit the pool by 6:15, followed by a core strength workout. Tomorrow I'll run at least 4 or 5 miles ... slowly, but at least I'll be out there!
It's weather like we had this past weekend (high of 68 degrees, sunny, low humidity) that reminds me of why I LOVE living in California ... So I'm getting old, and work sucks sometimes, and our fence is falling down in the back yard ... we live in sunny Cal-i-4-Ni-eh. What a mood booster that is!
