Here's what I've been doing since the last time I wrote about running, over a month ago:
Saturday, May 19:
4.20 miles with Molly | 38:37 | 9:12/mi.
Sunday, May 20:
4.09 miles with Molly | 37:37 9:12/mi.
We were down in Illinois for this weekend, and since it had been warm in MN I assumed it would be warm in IL so I packed shorts, tanks and t-shirts. Woke up Sunday to find drizzle that fortunately stopped before I ran so Molly could go with me. But it felt really cold! My hands were numb for awhile - found out later it was only 45 degrees or so.
Tuesday, May 22:
4.02 miles with Molly | 37:41 | 9:22/mi.
Wednesday, May 23:
8.10 miles | 1:18:13 | 9:39/mi.
walk CD | 0.61 miles | 9:33 | 15:40/mi.
I'd done my longer run on Wednesday the previous week so as not to do it while out of town, and even though I didn't really have any conflicts over the weekend I decided to do that again since I liked running shorter on the weekend. I'd wanted to run 9, but this run just sucked and it felt hot. I took my handheld, and stopped at the Civic Center a few miles in to re-fill. I stopped just after 8 and walked the rest of the way back to the car.

Friday, May 25:
4.09 miles with Molly | 39:22 | 9:38/mi.
This is about the time that I started seriously thinking about revoking Molly's running privileges for the summer. I was having enough trouble not running at a snail's pace ... she'd be good for the first mile or so and then would just start dragging further behind. With her thick black fur, she just gets hot too quickly and I really worry about overheating her.
Saturday, May 26:
6.05 miles | 58:03 | 9:36/mi.
walk CD with Molly | 1 mile | 14:38
Still slow on my own ...
Sunday, May 27:
4.03 miles with Molly | 39:16 | 9:45/mi.
I took Molly out with me at 6-something, to get my run in before volunteering at the marathon. Temps were cool, but wow were we slow.
Wednesday, May 30:
5.04 miles | 47:00 | 9:20/mi.
Didn't run the day before, because my boobs were too sore (PMS). That was a first. They still hurt, but I sucked it up and ran in the hopes that it would stop my cramps. And the 47 minutes I ran were the only cramp-free minutes I had all day. What a shit day.
Thursday, May 31:
5.02 miles | 47:53 | 9:32/mi.
I don't remember what all went on here, but it was enough for me to post an entry titled suck and in the hormone-fueled whining refer to how my running sucked.
Saturday, June 2:
10.02 miles | 1:38:43 | 9:51/mi.
This run was utterly horrible! I had thought about going and running the new version of the trail race of doom (it's moved to a new park) but I had to go into work the previous night and didn't get home until after 11. I thought if I woke up in time I would go, but I didn't get up until 9 and the race (at least 20-30 min? away) started at 8. Oh well. Probably best, since if I ran so terrible on the roads, I'm scared to think of how ugly trails would've been. Anyway, it was warm and I ran out of water by 9 miles. Around 7.5 miles, I had a burp and thought I was going to puke, but didn't, and then had to run home with that nasty taste in my mouth. What the hell was that about?

Sunday, June 3:
5.04 miles | 48:06 | 9:33/mi.
Tuesday, June 5:
5.03 miles | 46:57 | 9:20/mi.
Hey, not as bad!
Thursday, June 7:
9.02 miles | 1:27:44 | 9:44/mi.
Another bad long run. I had planned on doing this on Wednesday, but the wind was really bad (approaching 40 MPH, if I remember right) and then I slacked on running at all that day. So I did this on Thursday morning, as we were heading out of town for the wedding and I wouldn't have time over the weekend. It was still pretty windy, but my MP3 player was dead so I didn't want to treadmill. So I went outside and sucked it up. Ran out of water around 8 miles, I think. Didn't do 10 as planned since I'd wasted too much time before running, and without water I didn't want to. But at least there was no near-puking!

Friday, June 8:
5.04 miles | 46:20 | 9:12/mi.
I really should not have been running outside. It was raining, which was no big deal. We were down at the in-laws, so I did think about just going to run at the fitness center but it's changed owners since I was last there and I didn't know if the daily rate was still $3 - and I only had $3. I figured that since it was warm, it would be fine. And the first few miles were fine, I got damp but it wasn't so bad. Then it started thundering and lightning. Not good. I would've liked to have run 6, but stopped at 5 for safety.
Wedding-related stuff kept me from running that Saturday or Sunday. Sunday afternoon, after we did stuff, I thought about going over to the park to run. But I thought spending time in the pool would be more fun.
Tuesday, June 12:
treadmill @ 1% | 5.1 miles | 47:00 | 9:13/mi.
Really didn't feel like running, so used the treadmill.
Wednesday, June 13:
treadmill @ 1% | 3.22 miles | 30:00 | 9:19/mi.
Repeat of the previous day, except 30 minutes was all I could stand.
Saturday, June 16:
treadmill | hill level 4 (3-7%) | 2.03 miles | 30:00 | AHR 131
treadmill @ 1% | 3 miles | 27:57 | 9:19/mi | AHR 167
I've been having some motivational issues lately, and this week it hit really hard. I didn't feel like running, so I went downstairs and walked for awhile and then decided I did want to run a little. I just finally got the Polar software working on my laptop, so decided to wear my HRM for "fun." Heart rate is still really high while running (and I just looked for a link but found I never went back and added my 2005 EBT experiment to the EBT category. I should do that later maybe).

Sunday, June 17:
treadmill @ 1% | 1.5 miles | 22:27 | 14:58/mi. | AHR 118
elliptical | HR Cardio | 2.47 miles | 35:00 | AHR 145
Didn't want to run, so I didn't. Decided I'll run when I can, but should try to do other stuff. So I walked and used the elliptical. Thankfully I had my MP3 player because the TV choices sucked.

Tuesday, June 19:
3.22 miles | 30:00 | 9:19/mi. | AHR 163
The Engineer came home and I still hadn't exercised. Neither of us really felt like it, but I decided we had to go downstairs for at least 30 minutes. If we still didn't want to exercise, we could stop at that point. So I ran for 30 minutes, he biked for 45. Guess who was better motivated?

Thursday, June 21:
4.5 miles | 42:17 | 9:24/mi | AHR 166
I decided to bring my running clothes to work with me so I'd go run from there instead of coming home and deciding I didn't feel like it. So I got changed and started to drive to the DT - but it started raining. Again, I'm not opposed to running in the rain, especially when it's warm out, but I remember Triathlete telling me we might get bad thunderstorms. I figured if that was the case, running in the middle of trees was a bad idea, so I went home and ran on the treadmill. I had TiVo'd the marathon of "The Closer," a show I had been told I would like but never watched since I didn't want to jump in. So I watched the pilot, and found that I do like the show! The guy that recommended it is now 3 for 3, I think (Medium, Rescue Me and now The Closer). It was good I didn't go outside to run, as the weather did get really nasty.

Friday, June 22:
4.06 miles | 38:00 | 9:22/mi.
Hey, an outside run! It had rained all day, so it was humid and kind of nasty. But relatively uneventful, other than me feeling pretty flabby and gross. And it's PMS-time, so the boobs hurt again.
Saturday, June 23:
treadmill | hill level 5 (4-8%) | 3.17 miles | 47:00 | 14:49/mi | AHR 135
I could've run, but I thought that since I only ran 3 days last week I didn't want to push things too far this week (ha ha! Like anything I do now could be considering "pushing it") and I wanted to run on Sunday. But I still wanted to do something, especially since I spent most of the day sitting and my step count was really low. (We're doing a 10K step/day thing at work so I've been wearing a pedometer). So I went downstairs and walked while watching another episode of The Closer. I now have only 18 more to go!

Sunday, June 24:
5.04 miles | 49:32 | 9:50/mi.
Another slow one. It was semi-warm and sunny, and I drank most of my bottle of water. Just felt slow and tired. Other than that, it was an okay run. I ran down the DT and it was pretty nice in the shade.

hey marisa. i hope you are having a good week! i was going to give your site to a fellow runner who is asking for advice to bloggers regarding some of the same issues you have blogged about, but then i thought that seemed kind of weird (for me to be giving out your site). instead, i thought i'd give you her site and if you feel like commenting etc. you can!
here it is: http://runninmomma.blogspot.com/
catch you later,
